I do find the timing a bit suspect. He gives a speech yesterday morning about terrorism and today we have a terrorism alert as the top news story. What a remarkable coincidence. Buried a little lower is the rising unemplyment rate, the fact that Rove is going to have to testify again, and the bestest judge in the world, Harriet Miers.

Suspect timing. I can think of lots of incidences of such things.

Except that President Bush quickly came out and took no credit for it. He said that NYC dealt with it. If that was what was happening, wouldn't he be trying to grab credit? I can think of times when Presidents have done such things and have tried to grab credit for actions taken at such a time.

Maybe it's a plot by the dems because of the Louis Freeh's book. Yeah, that's it. Let's make it look like the republicans are trying to distract when really it is the dems that are trying to distract from Freeh's new book. Yeah, that's it.

This administration has tried to play Osma Bin Laden out to be some madman. This is just not the case. He was one of out great allies in the Soviet-Afghanistan conflict."

Just after Clinton Missed Osama by 45 minutes, bombing the piss out of one of his training camps in the Sudan.

I claim that the timing of the speech and the terror alert in NYC are both suspect. There is a history with this administration of terror alerts happening at precisely the same time that the administration faces bad news.
