I, too, was elated at Nick Park & Steve Box winning for W&G. They so deserved it as the film was wonderful. Peter Sallis was shown, albeit only briefly. He was the elderly man with the red vest (I think it was red) the camera panned only for a few moments. I think it was wonderful of Park and Box to bring him along to acknowledge his contribution to the magic and appeal of W&G by his vocal art.
Which is considerable if you ask me.

I'm with you all the way... and yes, they panned to him, he was a row in back of the person it "seemed" they were focusing on. I knew the guy I was looking at had to be too young.
It was a wonderful tribute to his contribution, and a wonderful way to end a year that cost them so very much, but has repaid them in so many different ways.
