I think it's a pretty common thing to happen. I don't know. I felt that way when I met Dame Judi Dench. I could feel myself getting overwhelmed and the tears felt like they were welling up as I spoke to a hero of mine... I think it's totally natural.
Kudos to you for doing it. So you cried, meh, people cry. I cry. Mostly at movies...
