Garden Nuisance - Purina
Are the neighborhood animals wreaking havoc in your garden? Check your local pet shop for products specifically formulated to keep animals out of your yard. Place lemon peels or slivers of deodorant soap around your garden. Most animals hate being startled, so surprising them by turning on the sprinkler can be very effective.

Thank you, NA. I do appreciate that. However, and I'm really not trying to be offensive, I just find it ridiculous that it should be my responsibility to keep someone else's animal from pooping in my yard.

I have tried a couple of things, but they fade over time or rain washes them away, requiring me to work at keeping someone else's animal from pooping in my yard.

I called animal control once to see what they suggested. All they told me is that it is legal to trap on my own property.

While I really dislike cats, it is not my desire to trap someones pet and send it off to a shelter.

You could get a badger. Tie it to a stake in your yard. That'll scare 'em away.

Would probably scare my children away, too. That wouldn't be a problem, but then they'd just be in the house.

How about a scarecrow?

This works great on the seals in Newport Harbor. I bet it would work on cats.

My annoyance remains, though, that it is expected to be my responsibility to control an animal that belongs to someone else.
