The problem is, I don't recognise the names of the newer artists on his new albums!

From an email I got from Al (Ok, his people):

Wow..do you live in a cave? Chamillionaire sings Ridin' Dirty and Green Day sings a ton of popular songs (American Idiot, Wake Me Up When September Ends, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Good Riddance, and more).

Pretty much. I don't listen to a lot of radio. Though, if I hear the songs, I'd most likely recognise it, just not the songs name or the artist's name.

Sorry DF, neither the artist nor title of that song ring a bell. For most of the new pop artists I don't know the names anymore. I have to hear the song to say "oh, that one." The ones I do know are less mainstream.

As for Green Day - they've been around a long time. I was a teen myself when they first hit. RStar really is old. I think his earlier statement was a senior moment.

I thought you meant it like "I feel old because some kid has no idea who Toni Basil is who did "Mickey" that Al paradies as "Ricky"; or Men without Hats is who did the Saftey Dance that Al paradied into The Brady Bunch.

But now I know you meant it the other way around.
