Survivor tonight

Being the survivor geek that I am, I watched the "survivor live" show today.

Interesting tidbits from the show:

1. After losing their flint, Koror marked the spot with a canteen tied to a weight. It made it easy to find the next day.

2. Ashlee esentially gave up and asked other members of the tribe to vote for her. She also voted for Jeff to ensure there was no tie. I wonder if she was the quitter that Jeff mentioned at the reunion show from the last series.

I can think of a few folks here that would add a bit of color to the cast of Survivor 11 or 12...

My sister's fiance has sent in two applications and hilarious tapes.....one for the current season and one for the next. He's be SO perfect for the show. He's funny, laid back, seems cool but could totally scheme, and very outdoorsy. He's a HUGE fan of the show.

I know someone who married a guy who was chosen as an alternate for Survivor Outback.

Heather and I were amused by Angie. She has a t-shirt, yet most of the time she walks around in her thong and nipple-revealing bra. I wonder how she plays in Peoria?

I hope they have an opportunity to win some clothes, because her skimpy underwear isn't going to last for 39 days. All I can think is that she spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on those tattoos to sit in the sun and be in the saltwater for a month! I hope they have sunscreen off camera. (I was worried about Lex's tattoos also. That's just one of the first things they tell you is to minimize sun exposure.)

Bobby Jon could be fun to watch. He was downright pissy during the challenge. That boy has a temper on him.

So far they're all fairly annoying. I miss Rupert. I'd like to see a bigger range of casting. And I'd like to see more than the token "old people".

You can predict who will go far in the game by how much camera time they get in the early episodes. The producers focus on the early booties so they get some camera time before they are gone and save the better players so they seem more freash to views later in the game.

The camera time axiom is only mostly true. There have been a few early boots of people with no face time (they must have just been really boring), and there have been people who get tons of early face time and make it far (usually the people who look like they're playing a terrible game but end up playing everyone, like Boston Rob).

I was re-watching last weeks episode. In that episode it sure looks like Host-Jeff (as opposed to player-jeff) was truly surprised about the loss of the flint. How much do you think Jeff knows about what goes on outside of the challenges? Based on that I wonder...
