All other units representing films or attractions have done so for really old films and attractions. No advertising.

I wouldn't call it "no advertising" as the films were rereleased through the 80's. And I don't think it makes a difference that Return to OZ was for one summer only, as well as....

These are the tie-ins that I was thinking of as well.

I don't understand why an "advertisement" would draw ire, as everything advertises everything else. We purchase advertisements from them all the time and run in to see the new advertisements. Just one very similar example - The Lion King parade was a huge, wonderful advertisement. I have no illusions about any of that.

Hmmm, I don't remember the Fox and the Hound float. Of course, I didn't live in California when that film was released.

The Hercules floats were never in the Electrical Parade, so those don't count. But they were beautiful and, though I hated that movie, I would love for them to be part of the parade.

Even though I'd seen it a few times, I really don't remember the original Electrical Parade that well. OMG, the "floats" were glorified cardboard flats. There was a Chinese New Year dragon in there somewhere. I can't say whether or not there were any pre-synergy attempts at synergy.

My first trip to the park was 6/21/81 (yesterday was the anniversary of that awesome day) and I don't remember seeing The Fox and the Hound floats during the parade. Then again, it was quite some time ago.

I guess I understand them promoting films no matter how cruddy they may be, but I also feel there are some deserving films that should be in the parade. It would be nice if they could add some floats to MSEP based on Aladdin or Beauty and the Beast...

I really don't care what films are in and what are out. All I care about is that whatever is in there is done well. Pete's Dragon is NOT a good movie, but wow what an Electric Parade float.

So long as the music remains essentially the same it remains the world's most awful parade (unless you're deaf or otherwise render yourself similar). And I once saw a "parade" that consisted of 16 13-and-under marching bands.

I hate the movie, but I still can't for the life of me figure what two Model-T-era automobiles have to do with The Fox and the Hound? Is one car the fox and the other the hound?
