I found some Tim Tams at the Target on Bellflower in LB. Eh... They're ok. I prefer Thin Mints.

I hope I can move like Springsteen when I get to his age.

If I wasn't going to Orlando this year, I'd probably try to get tickets for his L.A. appearance.

Try These ones !! I've used this recipe for years, and they're as close to the genuine article as you can make at home.

Aussie meat pies

Makes 4

Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large brown onion, finely chopped
  • 500g lean beef mince
  • 1 tablespoon cornflour (Cornstarch to you USA'uns)
  • 3/4 cup beef stock
  • 3/4 cup tomato sauce (catsup to you lot)
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon barbecue sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Vegemite
  • 2 sheets frozen, ready-rolled shortcrust pastry, thawed
  • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten
Method
  1. Heat oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion. Cook for 3 minutes or until soft. Add mince. Cook for 4 minutes, stirring with a wooden spoon, or until browned.
  2. Mix cornflour and 1 tablespoon of stock to form a paste. Add remaining stock. Add stock, sauces and Vegemite to mince. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 8 minutes or until thick. Cool.
  3. Preheat oven to 220°C. Place a baking tray into oven. Grease 4 x 8cm base measurement pie pans.
  4. Cut 4 x 15cm circles from shortcrust pastry. Use to line bases and sides of pans. Fill with mince. Brush rims with water. Cut 4 x 15cm circles from puff pastry. Place over meat. Press to seal. Trim. Brush with egg. Season.
  5. Place pies onto hot tray. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden. Serve.

So husband and I had fun at the super bowl party thrown by one of the mountain bike club members. I've learned that it's harder to type properly after drinking.

The hostess (when we left) said she was a little uncomfortable with one of the girls sitting on my husband's lap during the game. I figure, if I don't have a problem, nobody else ought to. While it's true he was flirting, it's also true that I don't mind.

I liked the game. And I'm a little disappointed that nobody responded to my admiration of cleaveage.
