So I listen to McCain in front of CPAC today. I don't get it. He had opposed making the Bush tax cuts permanent, but now he says he supports them. He had reluctantly (a few months ago) changed his tune regarding securing the border, and now he makes it sound as if he had always supported it.
I get that about politicians. So here's what I wonder. Has he had a genuine change of heart on these and other issues, or is he simply preaching to the choir at CPAC? He needs to prove to me that he means these things and isn't simply now trying to appeal for the support of the conservative base. |
