No, you don't run Bush up the middle on 4th and 2. But you do have him on the field as a decoy or you roll Leinert out and toss a 5 yard pass to Bush. As soon as I saw that Bush wasn't on the field I called out, "White up the middle". Of course, so did the Texas defense. Stuff the run, get the ball back at mid-field. Game over.
Makes me glad I bet on Texas as a 2-1 underdog. STC is a genius. ![]()

*shrug* Sometimes it just has to be this way. The fact is, even if Reggie Bush were in there, there's no way Texas would have believed anything but White up the middle, so why try a decoy that won't work when you can instead have an extra blocker in the game?
Sometimes it just comes down to your best against their best. When Gagne faces Barry Bonds in the bottom of the 9th with the bases loaded and 2 outs, Bonds, and everyone else in the Bay area, knows he's going to throw the fastball. And even though deception is often a part of the game, sometimes you just gotta get up there and make them beat you against your best pitch, predictable or not. No amount of deception is going to fool anyone in those cases.

Looks like this USC cheerleader put a little money on Texas too:
