Bill's sister gave us two pounds of pepper bacon for Christmas. I stuck it in the freezer at the time. I thawed one package out last night and made some this morning. We didn't like it - too peppery.

Would anyone like it? We have a one pound package minus 4 rashers and a one pound package still frozen. Free to a good home!

Can you bring it to your office in GG on Tuesday? Ken is off that day, and I can send him over to pick it up.

I wonder if you could have given it a quick rinse to wash off some of the pepper to turn it down a notch?

Today I watched an Iron chef showdown where they show bits from past shows. This one was called "Show me the bacon". It was great, though ham and suckling pig are hardly bacon in my book. One chef made funnel cake fried in pork fat and topped it off with powdered pork fat. Mmmmm, powdered lard!

I have issues with bacon from fast food places. It tastes off to me - unusually smoky or something.

So, my questions for you is: Is the bacon shake like fast food bacon? Or regular bacon?

I know exactly what you mean. sadly, I will have to say it is fast foodish bacon, but not in an overwhelming way like many places. Im sure that has a lot to do with it being in a shake form, but none the less. it wasnt the worst bacon 'thing' Ive consumed on a whim. I think that (dis)honor falls to bacon gum or maybe gummy bacon. I forget which. I only recall that both were vile.
