Four years before the Matrix, photo morphing (aka bullet time) is debuted in a Rolling Stones video.

Much of the "Bullet Time" effect in the Matrix is not done with morphing- it's cameras setup on predesigned arcs with laser guided targeting and computer triggers- then the filmmakers interpolated frames (or dropped frames) as they needed.

Ok, what I meant was "the morphing of photography from various angles together in order to simulate video." Black or White was filmed with a video camera from a stable point of view. Both the Matrix and the Stones video used still cameras placed in different locations in the room, then did use morphing to "interpolate frames" as you call it, enabling them to "freeze time" as they spiraled around their subjects.
