Katiesue, I'm with you. My dad died in 1995, but I miss him. I have fond memories of blowing chit up. Even when things didn't work. It was fun. We never went to the "official" fireworks display.

My dad died shortly after turning 50. I'm not sure to be happy to avoid seeing him decline, or to be sad because I miss him. He came to me in a dream and seemed to say that everything was all right but he's still my daddy and my inner child throws tantrums occasionally because she misses him.

Fireworks were banned one year so my dad lit road flares. Not the same but fire was involved.

I loved throwing them down storm drains - it intensified the boom.
