| Nueve | I had to post this here, since it is about bacon and I am all about the proliferation of this thread and its bacon-y goodness.... When I was doing my quickie search on traditional Irish foods, teh Wikipedias suggested that it would be more likely to be Bacon and Cabbage in the pot, rather than corned beef, which was typically saved for royalty and the well-to-do. The History of Corned Beef

				            | I'd heard that too! Can't imagine boiled bacon though. I'm thinking it must have been chunks of the meat, not today's thinly sliced stuff.

| Nueve | The site linked says it's the 'bacon joint'... whatever that means. I'm totally feeling guilty for this bacon-y procrastination, so I won't click on it any more.

				            | I just discovered that the grilled pork sandwich from Lee's Sandwiches is actually bacon, and lots of it. For $2.20, it's a foot-long baguette stuffed with bacon, asian pickle (cucumber, carrot, onion), cilantro, and fresh jalapeno. I'm in heaven. To see the photo of what I'm eating right now, click on Menu/Asian Sandwiches/Grilled Pork. |

				            | The really nice thing - it's not overly salty either. Just enough to give it flavor. |

| I Floop the Pig | Geebus, they have one of these places at the UCI student center now. Probably a good thing it wasn't there while I was going.
