Phantom of the Opera screening 9/1/06

I've added this to the calendar for any Bay Area local LoT swanksters.

Friday, September 1 at 7:30 pm The Stanford Theatre will be showing Lon Chaney's The Phantom of the Opera. Dennis James will be playing the mighty wurlitzer (and let me tell you, he is FABULOUS).

Possible pre-dinner movie meet at Jing Jing's around the corner from the theatre if there is any interest.

I will be there, a must see in my book and the last silent film of the summer season at the Stanford.

Cool! If I wasn't going to be in WDW, I'd go for sure. Do you know which version of the movie they're going to be showing? There are at least two "official" versions circulating...

No, I do not know. Probably a print owned by UCLA since David Packard works closely with them after he purchaased the John Hampton collection with UCLA. They have consistently shown spectacular prints.
