Leap the Dips?

Hey Coaster Matt:

I saw a NatGeo article on coasters today: ROLLER COASTER PICTURES: 125 Years of Thrills

In the article they mention "Leap the Dips" the oldest operating coaster in the world. I was wondering if you have a coaster credit for it.

I've got the credit, and I donated $100 to it's restoration.

It's really fun, and the whole family can ride- we saw plenty of people holding toddlers when we rode.

For all those wondering what it's like to ride...

Thrilling in 1902 !! Still thrilling today (note the ominous creaking sounds....)

Oh, and BTW: the 1912 Melbourne Luna Park's Scenic Railway is still the world's oldest continually operating switchback railway. So there.

Here's another excellent old old ride - the Rutschebane at Tivoli Gardens - especially nice knowing that Walt Disney experienced this attraction.

What does one-sided friction coaster mean? Brakes on only one side?
