Sept. Swanking - Pink Martini @ The Hollywood Bowl (or some such thing)

Yeah, we had a whole thread (or a long tangent) about the name Pink Taco for a restaurant a while back ... that's why when one opened near me (oh, perhaps that was a bad way of phrasing it), I thought it would be the perfect LoT lunch spot on Pink Day.l

I'm thinking 12:30-ish for Pink Taco lunch. But we'd really have to work backward from the time we have to be at the Bowl for picnic.

What time is the show? Anyone know?

Or more specifically, 7:30 time.

And I hadn't previously noticed this, but Carol Channing is a "Special Guest" that evening.

I think I mentioned that earlier? Merv Griffin was also listed as a special guest, but I don't think he's coming back for a rerun (badum bum).

Concert is at 7:30.

We should be in our seats at 7:15.

Allow 30 minutes to pack our crap up from dinner and mozy up to the seats, that means, finish dinner around 6:45.

Nice leisurely dinner, that puts us at 5:00 arrive at the Bowl.

Drive to the Bowl from Trader Joes.. let's say a half hour. That puts us at 4:30.

Trader Joes (or Gelsons) run for some evening grub. Let's allow 30 minutes for that. puts us at 4:00.

Drive to Trader Joes (or Gelsons) from Pinkberry in Century City. That puts us at 3:30 leave pinkberry.

Allow 30 minutes to get to and enjoy pinkberry. That puts us at 3:00.

Then, prior to that, we have Pink Taco. That puts us at 1:45-2:00 if we allow an hour or so for lunch.

Of course, that means eating almost nonstop from 1:45 to 6:45, but what the hell. Skip breakfast that day. Or we can be even MORE leisurely and meet at 12:30 at Pink Taco. If we sit around the bowl eating, so what.

Personally, I will want to go home after the Bowl being a Sunday and all. (If people would prefer Pink's Hotdogs instead of Pink Taco then there's another pinkberry by Pinks also... but I think Pink Taco is the better choice, hot dogs aint my bag, baby).

So my vote, after all that, is 12:30 at Pink Taco. Pink Taco is located at the Westfield Century City Mall. 10250 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90067 is the address to the mall. Incidentally, there's some retail store called Thomas Pink's there at that mall, but I have no idea what the heck that is. For all I know it's a women's shoe place.

Does that sound good? 12:30, Pink Taco, followed by Pinkberry (IsM is the Pinkberry in that mall too?), then Trader Joe's/Gelsons run, then to the Bowl, then picnic, then the show, then optional Pink's Hot Dogs afterwards, then cruise Santa Monica Boulevard for men with long, hard, throbbing pink personalities. Huzzah! We'll all be walking funny in the morning.

(Oh, and if you aren't meeting up with us at the start of the Pink day, then make sure you have my cell # so you aren't wandering aimlessly though the streets of hollywood shouting "Lounge Of Tomorrow! Lisa!!! Has anyone seen my Lisa!?!?" or some such thing.)
