Required by the user agreement, no. Required by the fact that the limited number of available last names have all the common "normal" first names taken, yes. (There is a list of about 100 last names to choose from. You can make up whatever first name you want.)

I'm still of GC's mindset from earlier in the thread - my day is pretty packed between work, commute, cooking, swimming, writing, LoT, and sleep. So I am glad you're all enjoying it, but I can't join in. I hope you have a blast, though!

Yeah, my mindset is the same as I have these days with The Sims. It's not that I don't think it'd be an entertaining activity for me. Quite the opposite, I'm a prime candidate to become addicted. But I finally came to the conclusion that I treated my Sims dude better than I treated myself and that I could use the time I was spending to reverse that, so it's just better for me to avoid it.

I will not be playing SL. I refused to start playing WoW because of the time suck that is. Gave up my computer gaming after Diablo LoD. SL does have beautiful graphics though.

I'm glad you guys are having fun. Don't forget to escape into real life though.
