				   | The Ceremonial Compass Dance and the Wall Across Main Street were perfect in every way. They made my insides tingly.

				            | I don't know how you flipped a picture but that was cool! I also noticed you two with the fingers backwards but I wasn't going to say anything. |

| Cruiser of Motorboats | OK, so how can I consider myself a true Disney geek, yet never have heard of the compass ceremony, especially since it is apparently a decades-old tradition? Somebody please fill me in on the origins of this strange yet delightful ritual. |

Since he's been doing Disney traditions far longer than most of us, this is out of his bag of tricks, and performed only on Disneyland's birthday, I believe...though traditionally it was done if you spent an entire day at the park, all of us closers were allowed to participate. Crazy thing is, I believe I've done it 4 years in a row now.

| Kink of Swank | Yep, I have no idea how the Compass Dance started in the prehistoric time of circa 1980 - - but it's done on Disneyland Birthday when you close the Park -and- is also performed if you have both opened and closed the Park on any single day. Of course, I'd now love for Hands Across Main Street to be a Disneyland Birthday Tradition - - but obviously one that can only be performed during the final moments of Main Street's Remaining 1 Hour of Shopping Convenience, and with a minimum of 21 Park Closers. |
