lugubrious
that's my word of the day, I just read it in a movie review! ![]() it is an adjective that means: mournful, dismal, or gloomy, esp. in an affected, exaggerated, or unrelieved manner: lugubrious songs of lost love. I thought it had something do do with lubrication, but alas... it's still a cool word tho!!! Just FYI something funny about LoT - I tried doing a search for this thread under "word of the day" and it said "of" "the" and "day" were too common and/or short to do a search for. So it just gave me every thread with the word "word" in it.. grrrr :P

Urban Dictionary
A friend sent me this and I though it was too funny not to post
Upon hearing about our latest receptionist issue at work (the one thing we can count on in my office), my husband coined a great new term that I will now integrate into my daily parlance. "Drama Leave" I have submitted the term to Urban Dictionary under the name of ***** as follows--- Drama Leave: Time off work to address---or more likely revel in---the train wreck of your life. You're not sick, it's not a vacation, and it's not really an emergency except in your own head. Example: "I heard the receptionist arguing with someone on her cell last night, and she's a no show, no call today. I guess she's taking drama leave."
