i really want to twitter on the go. my current cell provider won't let me text to twitter. i'm on the verge of sucking up the more expensive plans and getting an iPhone. i played with one last night. they are nifty, alright.

BUT ... they are too darned big. i want my portable devices to be small, literally pocketsize. i have enjoyed the last decade of my cell phone getting smaller and smaller ... and i'm not yet willing to start moving in the other direction just for incremental increases in functionality (oooh, i can check the LoT and post on twitter while i'm out in the world having fun!)

At some point you won't be looking for functionality so much as just the ability to see the damn screen. I'm lusting after an iPhone for the screen size as much as for the functionality. Sprint really, really wants to sell me a Samsung Instinct which seems to have much of the same functionality as the iPhone but the screen is a little smaller and that could end up being the deal breaker.

Blackberry Pearl.
Verizon has a bunch of phones with web access about the size of the Pearl as well.

The BB Pearl is 4.2" x 2" x 0.57" (but no QWERT keyboard)
The iPhone is 4.5" x 2.4" x 0.48"

Not much of a size difference.

I tend to not think of my BB as being a big phone. It fits nicely in my jeans pockets.

Just got an iPhone and am already loving the functionality as well as form factor - it's thinner than my razor

Who exactly sees a twitter with a link to porn and thinks, "Oh thank, GOD! I've been looking all OVER the internet for pr0n and just haven't been able to find any. Finally, this kind stranger has provided me the link I need!!"?
