How is "Henry Gale" going to explain that one?

So I guess Dharma still drops supplies to the people that are to be minding the hatch? Why did the blast doors come down? Was it to coincide with the drop of supplies? If so, why?

Was that Sayid's girlfriend (from his flashbacks) that Locke was inspecting the home for?

I didn't notice the drop

When did it occur so I can go back and watch on my TiVO? How would the supplies be dropped? And where were they dropped? I feel so confused.

I found this map of the door overlay.

That does appear to be Nadia. I wonder if that was post Gulf War.

And why did the balloon have a box of Dharma food?

The baloon didn't have food. The thing with the food was a parachute, not the baloon, separate things. There seems to have been a food drop.

My 2 theories.

1) The drops come FROM balloons. How else could they make the drops without anyone hearing an aircraft?

2) It's possible that either the Others or, if we subscribe to the theory that the Others are subjects of the same expriement, whoever's actually running things could have easily dug up his wife and replaced it with a black guy and a fake id.

Now, how are they going to get the blast doors back down to read the scribblings?

That was a parachute? I thought it was the hot air balloon and basket that crashed.

Good theories! The aircraft wouldn't have been able to hide behind the whrring of the hatch for long. I think Sayid is right though, he would have known the details of buring his wife. Did anyone else notice how fast Jack and Kate discovered the parachute, Sawyer, Sayid and Charlie? It wasn't a days walk.

I thought of the Wizard of Oz connection as soon as he said his name was Henry Gale. I love that the guy on the ID was black. They just love "surprising" us with interracial casting that always makes me realize my own biases.

The hot air balloon was in the trees, and pretty well up there. The parachute and drop were on the ground in a different location. Anna-Marie, Sayid and Charlie were on their way back to camp and they probably also saw the light beacon on the drop, which is why they met Jack and Kate there.

I love that this show is designed for the internet/Tivo generation, with clues (like the map) obviously MEANT to be copied and posted for everyone to theorize on. Bravo.

Interesting that "Henry Gale" came back to Locke, despite the fact that he wasn't who he said he was. Why didn't he just run?

And what in the world were those symbols on the door? Screencaps, please!

OK, time to download the next episode from iTunes! Wait... what? No? NOOOOOOOOOO! I refuse to wait a week for a new episode. Why do crappy shows like "American Idol" get to be on two nights a week, and the good stuff gets doled out so slowly? None of this "good stuff takes time to make." MORE!

Wasn't Dorothy's last name in "Wizard of Oz", Gale?
And didn't the wizard get to/out of Oz in a balloon?

I can't take credit for that theory, it was passed along to me by a friend.
