I think there's an element of truth to that. The safer we make "things" the more dangerous our behavior, the greater need to make things safe.

We had Lawn Darts and a Slip-N-Slide. Obviously, my parents should have been put away.

I played lawn darts with my Grandpa every summer. Loved them.

Slip and slides they still sell - but for how long???

Yes yes - me too me too. And I went all willy-nilly and mixed things that shoudln't be mixed and was very disappointed when nothing spectacular happened. But we got my set from a second hand store so maybe it was just too old.

My kids have an electronic snap kit that's pretty cool.

Don't forget the Mattel creepy crawly "Thing Maker" that actually got hot enough to burn you!

Oh, and Click-Clacks - dangerous ball of fun!

The funny thing is, the things that I actually hurt myself with are still around - bicycles, roller skates and skate boards being top contenders in my book.
