Well I have managed to hit a couple of places since my last post.
![]() I have gone, um twice ![]() Then I hit Mauricio's(yeah more mexican food it's Bakersfield whadda ya expect)for many Prickly Pear Margarita's...two thumbs up for the margaritas(well I saw 4 thumbs)but the food bleech. Nice outside cantina though. Then this weekend while at DL I had to stop by Uva for a Martini, or three, on Saturday. Canteloupe ones were good, but too expensive. Then to Tortilla Jo's for happy hour nibbles and more Prickly Pear margaritas(mmmmm very good)and a few snippets of conversation with Evil Minion. ![]() There are more places to discover here and I'll be sure to post them upon finding them. I've been enjoying my cocktails on my back patio lately though, cheaper and I can pick my own music and I can take a dip if it gets too hot ![]() |

We "regulars" of the other Chuy's call the one you are referring to as the Disney Chuy's. It is huge. I prefer our little hole in the wall on this side of town... it is a lot like the old TV show Cheers. You walk in and everyone knows you and the bartenders have their drinks waiting for you when they see your car in the lot. About the only place we go out to drink to is Chuy's-every Friday night. |

So far I've only made it to the Cheesecake Factory and that doesn't really count. Although I did have a very tasty lemon drop.
We're going to Fremont Outdoor Movie night Saturday, so we may find a beverage consumption opportunity there.

Well, I started out tonight at the Hotel Bar - AKA Le Bar, which is actually a rather swanky place. It's hot in Chicago - 93 today - so I set out for fuzzy water, and once hydrated switched to Sidecars, which they make exceptionally well. Not Afraid joined me for most of this via her favorite media, her cell phone and we traded tales of swank and fashion.
Next up, I had dinner at Le Colonial, a hip Vietnamese place with heavy French Colonial influences (French and Asian - my two favorite things these days ![]() So, I had read about this place called the Motel Bar, which sounded like a swank way to finish the evening. It's about 10 or so blocks from my hotel so I decided to walk it. Found myself in a hip neighborhood of design and furnature shops with a few cool daytime eateries, but as the sun continued to set, and I continued to walk, I began to notice a shift in the neighborhood, now there were a lot of check cashing places, and loitering women in short shorts and rather tight, high cut halters. Then there was the projects, complete with boarded up windows, and debris. It was then a group of youths passed me by, talking to me in the third person, "That guy's crazy, he should get his white ass home." Considering, I've never been to this place and that it had some sort of funky side street enterance (i.e. picture me looking around dark alleys), I decided to take their third person advice and return to my hotel. Maybe next time I'll take a cab. ![]()

Good call, €uro- this is a 'Pub Crawl', not a 'Crawl to the Local Emergency Room'.;
Hey think those were Crack Ho's? We saw some of them at the Terminal Mall in Cleveland, too! Way too uptown for us in Spokane. We only have Meth Ho's. Last edited by wendybeth : 06-23-2005 at 09:37 PM. Reason: Ho query |

Last night I went to Malarky's Irish Pub in Newport Beach. It's a great place that I haven't been to in years. Very cozy and packed! Drinks are a little expensive but well worth it. My girlfriend and I met lots of nice fun men to flirt with and buy us drinks. We ended up closing the place down. Now I'm paying for it at work!
![]() Off to Phoenix for the weekend. I'm sure I'll have a new story to report. ![]()

I 'had' to go to the French Market this afternoon to get some alligator jerky for my nephews that I'm visiting next week - and as I was leaving (successfully, by the way!) I see Margaritaville, and decided I needed to have a Margarita. Even though it was cool in there, I didn't really feel like staying, so I got a Raspberry 'Rita in a go cup and was on my way back towards my car, fighting the crowds and heat, sipping on the refreshing concoction of tequila and raspberry liquor.
I was GOING to get myself a Pimms cup from Napoleon House, but I saw Margaritaville first and it was blasted hot out (even though the Pimms cup is very refreshing). |
