This is seriously one of those "we were not meant to be there" moments.

1. I work that day. I thought I had checked, but I either hadn't or I got the day wrong.

2. It's Hanukkah that weekend.

3. It's a day we're blocked. (BTW, I hereby state that buying a SoCal pass was the biggest mistake of my APer career. What a frustration and waste of money.)

Perhaps I could accuse the staffers of being anti-semitic (

), but eh, while 2 and 3 could be dealt with, the real sticking point is that I work that day and I already take too many Saturdays off. I guess with SoCal being blocked on both Saturday and Sunday, you guys wanted to have it on a Saturday, which is understandable.
