July 4th Weekend

I have no real plans as yet, and if I end up staying home and having a barbecue I won't be unhappy. Things have been far too busy lately.

I'll be going to a friend's house for his annual BBQ & neighborhood fireworks show. I don't go every year, but it's always a good time. It's the last time I'm going to see a friend of mine before she goes to Ireland for a few months or so, so she guilted me into going this year. Their whole neighborhood goes all out in buying the fireworks & making a big show of it. Except for one scrooge neighbor who always threatens says she's already called the cops and has them on alert for the first "boom" and every year....she does nothing. In all the years I've been there, the cops have never shown. (And I secretly am the bleeding heart who sympathizes with her...I'm not really a big fan of fireworks myself, but don't tell anyone, ok?) Anyway, I'm looking forward to it....good food, good drinks, good friends....that's what I'm talkin' about.
