Alrighty....

Got my prize, which we'll play later tonight.

For now, here is the quiz I took. It's multiple choice, but since most of them are easy for this crowd, I'm putting the choices in spoiler tags. Although sometimes without the choices it's hard to know what the question is asking....anyway. Try to guess it without looking at the choices, and please put your answers in spoilers so others can play.

On reading it now while typing it, I realize that this is a basic list of stuff that entry level geeks learn on beginning their journey through Disney history...you know, right after you're shown the hidden mickey in the HM ballroom...

1. <blank> is the "lost" land of Disneyland.
Spoiler:
A. Toyland B. Holidayland C. Partyland

2. Disneyland's original marquee is now located at <blank>.
Spoiler:
A. John Stamos' home B. the Smithsonian C. Neverland Ranch

3. There are <blank> "cemetary(s)" at Disneyland.
Spoiler:
A.13 B.7 C.1

4. At Disneyland, you can find Jumpers, Listeners, Star Gazers, & Jingles in <blank>.
Spoiler:
A. Toontown B. Fantasyland C. the Fireworks Show

5. Snow White's Father's true identity is <blank>.
Spoiler:
A. Michael Jackson B. Ted Reynolds C. Barry White

Yeah, I know you're thinking, "wha?" I thought the same thing but I did get it right...explanation in the answers post.

6. <blank> was denied access to Disneyland in 1959.
Spoiler:
a. Nikita Khrushchev b. Charles De Gaulle c. Fidel Castro

7. Tomorrowland's original theme represented the year <blank>.
Spoiler:
a. 1986 b. 1996 c. 2001

8. <blank> can be seen leering down from a Gothic window in Fantasyland.
Spoiler:
a. Malificent b.Malevolent c.The Wicked Queen

9. In the early years of the Submarine Voyage, <blank> could often be found at the attraction.
Spoiler:

10. <blank> is listed in the Guiness World Records.
Spoiler:
a. It's a Small World b. The Matterhorn c. The Golden Horseshoe Revue

11. The Disney family crest can be found <blank>.

Sigh, Pirate's LIFE was not too enthralling. They changed the rules a lot and the game is WAY shorter. None too exciting either.

Ah well, it's Disney and it's free, I can't complain too hard

I'll post the answers to the quiz later.

Welll, we played the prize...and we're about as impressed with it as we are with the other Disney-version game we have (Sorry!). It's, well, kinda sorry. A dumbed down version of the original. And it's too bad, because they came up with some neat concepts, but it's too short, there are waaay too many "special" spaces, and the risk/reward balance is all screwed up such that what's supposed to be a major choice at the beginning of the game is no choice at all and only one option makes sense. Oh well.

I SWEAR these questions are pulled right out of the last Disney Magazine! They are so very familiar to me.

Spoiler:
1. Holidayland is the lost land. (It was on the early plans.)

2. John Stamos has the original marquee. He won it on eBay. He's an ex-CM and Disney fan and really nice guy, apparently (ask MickeyLumbo).

3. There are 7 cemetaries...I don't know them all though...

4. Jingles was the giveaway - they're horses on the Carousel in Fantasyland.

5. Obviously it's not Michael Jackson or Barry White...but who's Ted Reynolds? Turns out he's a guy that works for the city of Orange. His daughter plays Snow White at DL. Hehe.

6. Khrushchev wanted to go to DL in '59 but Disney couldn't guarantee his safety, so they said no. He was pissed. I think he's the only person they've ever turned away.

7. Tomorrowland was set in 1986. They had real scientists work on it too. Shows how much scientists know.

8. The Wicked Queen (Evil Queen?) hangs out to glare down at Fantasyland revelers from the top of Snow White's Scary Adventures.

9. Mermaids! Much more appealing than turtles or dolphins. Chicks in tails sitting on a rock....but they got rid of them after men started jumping in the water...

10. The Golden Horseshoe Revue was the longest running show in history. It closed fairly recently too.

11. Sleeping Beauty Castle sports Disney's crest.

12. Penny Arcade! There was a Main Street Shooting Gallery inside the Penny Arcade.
