Could be, although my theory is it had something to do with the massive amount of grease I ingested. Ick.

I do like a good hot dog, though. Bunless, of course.

Same here. I got one at that red wagon truck off Main Street at DL (said to be the best) and it sat on my stomach like I had eaten a brick. Tastes good, but I tend to shy away now. I wonder if it was just the quantity? Type or quality of oil? Other corn dogs don't bother me.....

If the oil isn't hot enough or if the dog is left in too long, the batter will absorb oil instead of just cooking in it. Unfortunately in a high-throughput operation like the corn dog cart, new dogs will be dropped before the oil temp has recovered from the last batch. The best time to get one is probably when there's no line, so you'll get a fresh one cooked in hot oil.

Up until about a year ago, I don't think I had ever eaten more than two in my lifetime. They just didn't do anything for me. One day we went to Weinershnitzel(sp?) and I got one just because it sounded good for some reason. Something clicked and now I love them. I actually have a box of them in my freezer right now.

I like the ones in DL but they are just too big for me so I rarely get them. And yes, the grease is what gets to me.
