Pru - AWESOME!

I was just teased about my resurgence of dork-dom. Of course, I've been caught a couple of times being a total geek, but I just can't help it. Must be a part of my nature, whether it's music, movies, television, random crap... I'm a geek - I GIVE UP!

Not Afraid - I actually like the name, but... *pause* (or is that *paws*... OK, that was nerdy, too)... it reminds me of the pharmaceutical commercials and their "smooth" sounding names. Maybe I have to meet her to grasp onto it. Maybe she'll be the kitty to cure what ails us? Hehehe

OK, now I like it.

Betty - UGH! There are such bad eggs in the system that it stinks the whole place up! Thankfully for you, the year is almost up. It is a point that certainly needs to be brought up... I can also tell that you're pretty balanced about the situation - you know your daughter is no perfect angel, and that's the perfect perspective with which to come at it. And it's at the point that other people are asking why the teacher hates her so much? Wow... truly astounding. I hope your daughter does realize that not all teachers are like this one.

I know I've mentioned it on the boards some time ago, but I had a Kindergarten teacher that seemed to target me. Let other kids slide while catching me on every slip up. It seemed like at least once a week she was telling me that I just wasn't ready for Kindergarten. I was young, and I can remember just being so hurt. My mom and step-father were already considering moving, and decided to speed it up. They found a new home and a new school to enroll me in. As a precaution, I took some sort of test... I don't remember what it's called, but I remember being taken out of class for a few days... to see if I was ready. And I was.

I guess the thing is - what a teacher says and does can often have a permanent impact on how kids handle their education from that point forward. A negative experience like that could be detrimental to her esteem in upcoming classes, something everyone in the school system needs to be aware of.

I admire how you support your daughter in this ordeal. Some parents just default to the teacher's way of thinking and leave it at that.

The fact that she isn't a problem with other teachers makes me think something's wrong with Morgan.

A scheduled detention with a start and finish time is not too much to ask.

Moonliner - I don't know, I don't think I've ordered drinks from there before. The Romulan Ale looked interesting, but I'm too much of a chicken to drink blue beer. (Maybe I'm not enough of a Trekkie.)

OK, I realize that I just have a major bug up my ass from my Business Law class. Just some lines I've been drawing, and I think I need to take a little while to make it gel in my head. GRR...
