It seems like at the time the tribute was slapped together, they didn't know he was the murderer (presumed murderer). If they didn't post a tribute the fans would have had a fit.

When did Vince McMahon die? I haven't watched professional wrestling since 8th grade when I traded a VHS copy of Wrestlemania III for two Playboy centerfolds (one of whom was a Price Is Right model, can't remember her name).

Yes, but now they've apparently dropped the "Who killed Mr. McMahon" story line since Vince hosted the Benoit tribute.
