Canned bacon?!?! That's just not riiiiight!

I just ran across this recipe:

12 rashers back bacon, derinded and halved
2 onions, peeled and chopped
5 ozs. hard cheese, grated
Salt & black pepper

Set oven to 375°F or Mark 5. Butter a shallow, ovenproof dish and beginning and ending with the bacon, layer the ingredients, seasoning lightly. Bake for 30 minutes until the bacon topping is crisp. Serve accompanied by crusty bread.

Serves 4.

OMG I looked at the nutrition info on that canned bacon and I just realized.... bacon is really really bad for you hahaha (well by fat content, anyway)

(also, something saying that one of the ingredients is SUGAR and then it has zero carbs, is highly suspect)

Funny enough about the canned bacon, I just read about it on a foodie website I am checking out for entirely different purposes (go figure I'd be drawn in by bacon-y goodness).

I'm just asking Aussie Customs about it - If I can't bring it in, I'll be buying a case via one of you LoT and taking it to Swank Camp 2010 instead !!!
