For the house dream I'll take it at the literal level which sometimes works and sometimes is way off.
You are worried about losing something very personal to you that has value. (you said everything of value was gone in your family's home) Something that you keep around or close to you (because it was specifically in your purse - something that if, you're like most women, have around you whereever you go and that always know where it is.) You feel that even if you could replace it with something else that other people thought was valuable, it was not really a replacement at all. (it was in the same bag - replacing the other item of value.) Whatever you're worrying about is something you feel that you should have already known about - but didn't. (why did no one see people taking your stuff)

If we take the dreamscape as your own internal environment, then in the context of the dream you have lost certain things valuable to you. They may have been stolen by someone else, but in the dream it seems in a way they have either gone missing or have been replaced with other valuables - things other's might value, but not necessarily yourself and your internal thief. The doors left open, things unnoticed by your neighbors (also internal to you) makes it seem like some things that were dear to you may have lost their value.
or it was indigestion

I was supposed to get my portion of the brief drafted today, but last night I discovered The Case That Makes Everything I've Done Wrong, so I had to basically start over. Considering that I started from scratch, I got quite a lot done - created a preliminary argument structure, weeded through research to find the best/most cited cases for my arguments, and to demonstrate the current agreement of all circuit courts on this issue, and pulled out the major supporting citations the argument will be structured around.
Nothing actually written yet, but my brain is full for the day. I might get some cleaning/laundry/class reading done tonight. Tomorrow is tutoring and dinner with the fam, and Sunday I must turn my "advanced outline" into a coherent near-final draft. I hope I get it done, or my team mate will be pissed! I have, at most, 10 double-spaced pages to fill, though, so it shouldn't be too hard. It's a fairly straight-forward argument.
