I did see those briefly. But we want the super-quiet one, and I don't think they sell just the fan units for that one.

I would agree with Andrew about replacing just the fax. Much easier (usually the fan just plugs in with an Edison plug: no wiring needed) and cheaper. Although in our case, the fart fan in our bathroom was an odd size that took some serious digging my part.

Unfortunately condo living does not lend itself well to tool accumulation.

Meanwhile, the easy solution to hiding a closet without doors is to hang a curtain in place of a door. Super easy to do and very inexpensive.

In my opinion, there really is only one router to get: Porter Cable 690. Also, stay away from variable speed routers - they are more susceptible to problems.

If you have a hankering to try out the PC 690, let me know and I will be happy to loan you mine.

Next up will be a complete rebuild of our bedroom closet. Right now we have one 9+ ft long rod and shelf. Like everything else the previous owners did, it's half-assed. The shelf supports they were NOT made to handle the weight of all of our clothes + stroage boxes across a 9ft span. The need to replace it became urgent when we tried to put a box back up this weekend and it slid right off of the sagging shelf.

So we're going to rip it out. In its place will be multiple heights of hanging rods, a couple shelves, and space for some sort of shelving or cubbies or something tbd. And we'll be adding lighting.

We'll also be getting rid of the absurd doors on there. 8ft. x 4ft. x 2in thick solid wood sliding monsters. Hanging from a track that barely supports their weight. They're a bitch to slide and a bigger bitch to re-set onto the track when they fall off due to the track being bent from their weight. They also prevent us from decent access to the middle area of the closet.

If we simply take them off and make them go away, it'll be an improvement. Eventually I'd like to get a set of 3 light weight doors on there, but that will be phase 2.

Cubbies/shelves in a closet are da bomb, go for it!

An alternative to leaving the closet gaping open is to get spring loaded curtain rods and hang a lovely curtain(s) across it. When we bought our place, there was no door on the 2nd bedroom closet. I hung a sheer across the doorway. Even when the sheer's open it looks better than just no door at all.
