We had our cookie fix about 2 months ago. My husband's employer is the distributor for the area. His job was to meet and coordinate everything to make sure everyone gets their cookies to distribute.

At the end of their primary meeting, he was gifted several boxes of cookies. And by boxes I mean one large box that contains one of each type of cookie. One large box went home with us and the rest to his office.

You guys are killing me with all this GS cookie talk.

I've successfully navigated around the girls in green these last two years and not purchased a single box. After all the years supporting many girl scouts in my offices where I've worked and the gang in front of Target, enough with the cookies for me. I have no self control when I have them, I'm a thin mint monster, so must not buy them or be in line with temptation.

See that's me, I honestly thought I was going to 'escape' the addicition this year...my hookup quit being a leader and I haven't really talked to her in months so I wasn't going looking for a replacement....then an IM window popped up and I was sucked right back into the borg.

Forced to put into words this morning my refusal to support anything Boy Scout related I've decided that even though the Girl Scouts generally avoid those problems, just to avoid charges of sexism I will treat them as collateral damage in my personal boycott.

Unless, while standing in front of Safeway begging me for money they are willing to verbally castigate the Boy Scouts.

Brownies are hardly ever selling stuff at Safeway, and when they are they are too scared to talk to men who look like me (especially after the first one approaches me and I ask them how they feel about their mothers pimping out their cuteness in what is surely to be the first in a long slide down to the stripper pole of them using their looks to garner cash rewards).

Nothing feels so good as beginning the emotional ruination of a seven year old.
