Just heard back. We got it. However, the owners want 50 days deposit + pet deposit.

Now to call my father, who's going to be "thrilled" with that amount...

WOAH! Hold off. There are laws on the max amount of deposit that can be required. You may want to see what they are. I know you love this place but something seems a bit off.

I believe the max is 2 months' rent, so if 50 days plus pet deposit adds up to that, they're within the limits.

They ended up discounting the pet deposit so the total is quite a bit less than two months' rent.
