But, these comments bring me back to reality {one I am trying to avoid}... I work at the bullesye and they've scheduled me to open at 5:30. I am not really happy with them at this point. Tomorrows early shift aside, they brought in a lot of temps and cut the hours of so many others. Just in time for the holidays. I thought it was personal, being cut to just two days, then one, from 5. {They did not approve my LOA and have been giving me grief over it}. So, I figured I'd be working a lot, well, since they couldn't approve my time off. Nope. I haven't complained because I do want time off, I figure this works into my plans. But, other co-workers needed those hours desperately. I can't believe they've done this. Perhaps when it gets closer to Christmas they'll call people in but that doesn't make up for the 5-10 hour paychecks they'll be getting in the meantime. And, during the holidays. I need to put in for spring break off {and I need to check my rights as far as LOA for family are} as it is also our 25th anniversary and we are planning to go on a trip. Damn. I have to get up at 4:30??? Or earlier??? Carp.

| lost in the fog | Gee Whiz, MW, what kind of customer service does the bullseye think they will offer? I'm sure the regular employees were cut because the temps come in at a lower salary, right? Good luck tomorrow to you, I cannot imagine being on the other side of Black Friday. Actually, I can, but that was Tower Records and that was always crazy between thanksgiving and through New Year. There, at least, it was fun, I remember it being so, crazy, but fun. Get some sleep tonight and good luck tomorrow! And put in for your leave, early for next year!

Exactly, everyone is so upset {although I don't know why they haven't converged upon HR about it...}, unhappy, and, of course, the smiles are hard coming. I don't know what their idea is, I think they temps make only slightly less. I don't know if they will work them hard to get in training and then when it gets really crazy bring us back? But, that is when I want off. Oh yes, I am putting in my time off request for March tomorrow. I think I'll also put in for the summer one, too. I can't go further than that as the school dates are not always the same. Oh wow, I think working in a record store would at least have the fun of the music!! I hope I can sleep. Thank you for the good thoughts, I need them!!

				            | This is the first chance I've had today to get on the internet. Woke up at 8:00, had breakfast. prepped the kitchen and started cooking. Popped the turkey in at 11:00. Cleaned both bathrooms. Showered and dressed. Sent Bill to pick up my mother. More cooking. Bill came back with mother at 12:45. Finished cooking, got everything on the table by 2:15. Ate. Sat talking to my mother while Bill started cleaning up Drove my mother home. Collapsed.

| HI! | I understand the need for a good deal and all, but there's a part of me that is quite disgusted by our consumer culture. Of course, take a look at the books, CDs, DVD and clothes that take up space in my house and then show me the egg on my face. |
