55 and 50 Party - Disneyland and Zlick! - Page 16

I have fabulous memories of the 50th. And easy to remember since I spent about 12 hours sitting at Whitewater Cafe processing all the stuff everybody else was doing.

I can't even attend the MousePlanet 10th Anniversary stuff because we have a major product release this weekend at work and I'll be pulling an all-nighter on Saturday.

Plus, as I was saying to someone else today, even after a few years without a serious visit to the park, the thought of going to Disneyland makes me shudder with mild revulsion. I keep expecting the last bite barfs to wear off soon but so far it isn't happening (I don't feel the same about WDW or the other resorts).

I'm so excited! I'm hoping the kittens are okay by themselves... I have a fab dress that I have to alter slightly before Friday evening. And I have to find a hotel, since I don't want to drive home that night!

I don't know what you like to spend, but, when I was thinking of going up, I checked the places I like to go. Marriott Residence Inn Maingate. A bit high.

Second {within walking distance and cheap} the Motel 6. It is quite bare. It had wood floors. But, it was cheap, next door to the Marriott, too.

Dah. Friday?? I thought the party was Saturday? Oh well. Now I know I really can't go. I have an appointment to take my mom to the lawyer to get her one of those Health Directives? I'll be so bummed if she doesn't want to go. Wah.

I was going to try and go since I see a lot of people don't have APs. Like me.

I know it will be a blast. You all are sooooo creative and fun.

Most vivid memory was missing the morning events, arriving late because of comic-con. <sigh> Standing near Mickey in Townsquare with thousands of gold ears around was a real moment though...

the 50th MMC was amazing, also!

I was in that MMC event! I was one of the people who turned the giant black Mickey Mouse Ears into a giant gold Mickey Mouse Ears using gold pom-poms! Ah, the memories!

Nah, just pics of the piles of bottles and trash left over from a rad party.

Notice that all the pics are from early on - when things get really fun I don't remember to take pics. Seeing the fireworks from there was fantastic, due to Isaac's perfect soundtrack matching and everyone's participation.

This is making me want to post ALL my pics from that weekend, along with all the ones others took that I downloaded...

Perhaps we can all bring our pics from birthdays past for a bit of a slide show and nostalgia - or maybe any childhood Disneyland pics and we can make our own Ken Burns live documentary
