That's actually awesome. It was bad enough leaving at night - I couldn't imagine trying to leave when there was actually traffic.

I was named a finalist for a Presidential Management Fellowship.

It's not a job yet, but I will be attending the job fair in DC this month (you would not believe the deal on a totally SWANKY hotel I got - right in the middle of everything). There are some really interesting opportunities through this program. There are already some postings for jobs that would combine all my interests into one phenomenal career. They're not conventional legal practice, but they would definitely make use of my training, and several are sufficiently "legal-esque" that the experience would likely be seen as an asset if I wanted to transition to practice later. In fact, the DoJ specifically includes those coming out of the PMF program in the list of those who can apply for entry-level positions there.

Anyhow, I'm very thrilled to have made it this far. If I am named as a fellow, it will likely result in my joining the bitter east coaster club; there are positions throughout the country, but most are in DC.

It might lead to a new job and it might not - but it's an excuse for me to finally visit DC.

USH House of Horrors was fun- they kept scaring the crap out of Tori, and Matt introduced me to the Wolfman! (I shook his paw, even).


I just wanted to say I am am a good mood, and it's not even chemically induced! Might have something to do with the fact that I have the next three days off........

Oh, I'm TOTALLY happy now ! .....

....I just got the first 5 seasons of "Bewitched" for $15 per season !! I now have 170 episodes to amuse me.

Seems as good of a place as any to share this.

We have a wonderful cat. His name is Rufio. If When he is out after hours, when I go looking for him, he happily walks home with me. I do not need to chase him or even offer treats: he just knows it is time to come home.

He is very popular within our condo complex and many people know him. There is this one couple that when they take their evening walk together, will sometimes find Rufio. When they do, they have him follow them to our place. When the door gets knocked on at 9:00 at night, Susan and I look at each other and say "Rufio's home!"

Last night, when I came home at about 10:00, I saw Rufio in the driveway. I rolled down my window and called for him. He saw me and came trotting over to my car to say hello. I told him it was time to come home and drove on to our garage. He trotted along behind me (staying clear of the car). When I got to our garage, he stopped before the garage because he knew I backed into the garage. After I was parked, he crossed over to the walkway and patiently waited for me to get out of the car and close and lock the door. He then followed me into the house.

I love that cat!
