Oh, I'm sending you lots of energy and strength, DP - my mom has been moving into the "reject treatment" phase too, and I have found it's very, very difficult to me to deal with. But being there - seeing you in person convincing her otherwise - can make all of the difference. I agree with NA - hop in the car and go. It's your first impulse - and it's a good one.

DP: I don't know what the time frame is for the party, but sometimes having something "fun" to share can be helpful - they don't feel like they're being a burden, and you don't have to spend as much time trying to figure out what to talk about that's cheerful and non-cancer-related.

So trust your instincts. We'll be strong for you so you can be strong for them.
