I've done both of those. Loved the Midway (I want to take my Dad there - as an old Navy dog, he will love it) and enjoyed the lighthouse.

Kevy, my dad would have loved it, too. He split his years between the Air Force and Navy.
And, the locations!! Beautiful! There are hikes to be done up at the lighthouse, too. If you head down towards the tide pools, even more. While is it warmer this week, I hope that means that the skies are more clear. On a clear day, you can see forever!!! ![]()

JW- I toured a Soviet sub moored next to the Queen Mary. Same thing with those water-tight doors. I had a friend with me who is 6' plus, and kind of heavy. It *was* interesting to watch him get through those tiny little doors but he made it! And I'm glad you did, too.

Last night we went down to the Gaslamp Quarter an walked around. We picked an Italian restaurant called d'Medici based on the menu. The interior was "Fancy Restaurant Cliche". Rococo chairs with gold brocade, "Venician" plaster walls, Crystal chandeliers, silver chargers, waiters right out of a Godfather movie...etc. They took our drink orders. I ordered lemonade; and when it came, I was a little concerned that it tasted just like Countrytime Lemonade Mix. With more than a little trepidation, we ordered. When the food came and we tasted it, all our fears went out the window. It was marvelous!
Today we went back to Balboa Park to the San Diego Art Museum. There are two exhibits there right now that we wanted to see; Heroes: Mortals & Myths in Ancient Greece and an exhibit on Toulouse-Lautrec. The Toulouse-Lautrec exhibit is huge, and well worth the visit. It was the highlight of our day. After Lunch and finishing the museum we drove over to Hillcrest and walked around. We saw an "I (heart) Bacon" t-shirt in a store window. Bill said that I just had to get one, but the largest size they had was a large. Le sigh. We're back in the hotel now. We haven't decided what to do for dinner yet. Tomorrow, we come home.

I was walking through Hillcrest with my daughter a couple of Friday nights ago. What a busy place! It was fun. We were able to walk from her apartment and up to the shops/restaurants.
I didn't know there was so much going on there. Aw, did you ask if they had a bigger shirt or could order it?

LOL Oh, hey, that is the best way to shop. Let the moment pass. Keep a memory. Take a picture. Much more cost effective. :0)
Looking forward to photos.
