Very cool camera, Snowflake. I've gotta say I feel honored that you would consider my photos an inspiration. I can't wait to see what you do with that gem.

Matt
I can't pretend to even think about getting shots anywhere close to your fab pics with a vintage camera. Your gorgeous shots inspired me to think about all the great b/w shots and hope that I can play around and get something interesting.

Though it's a single lens, I'm also going to attempt color shots with it, they might be totally weird given the shutter speeds, but what the hell.

It's going to be fun.

The camera arrived yesterday, I think loading it for the first few times will be a real challenge, the case is very tight to open and get closed. I'm also going to have to seal off the "autographic slot) and the exposure number window (clear red plastic) to make it light tight.

It's neat and far lighter than I expected.

Updates!

As you know, I received the camera and it looks to be in really good shape and the bellows light tight. I've got some camera tape on order to seal off the autographic part and any other places that need it.

I picked up a vintage Kodak cable release for the shutter on eBay. Cheap!

12 rolls of 120 film arrived last night. I'm sure I've ruined the first roll just getting it IN the camera. The thing is really tight, had a heck of a time getting the back of the camera off. It was also not easy for me (fumblefingers) to get the spool in line with the winder. I'll be taking the roll of film as soon as I have broad daylight to play in (this weekend) to see if there are other leaks I do not know about.

In any case, should be interesting to see what I do get on the first rolls of film. Plenty of blurry or totally ruined shots, I am sure!

Oh, but what fun figuring out how to use it! And once you get good with it, some fantastic shots to look forward to!

Nope, not doing that (yet).

I am looking for a negative scanner, however. My Epson scanner does not have the capability, alas. I'm hoping to find a compact scanner that works for the negatives.

In the meantime, I'll head up to the Castro to have the film processed. Once I start taking film, that is.

I think you can get the film developed here in the USA. You don't have to go all the way to Cuba to have it done.....

It's so stange to talk about film as though it's outdated. I've used digital for so long, I can't tell you when I last developed a roll. I still remember using 110 film and flash cubes! (I still have some flash cubes! They are right next to some Blue Chip Stamps in a drawer that I haven't cleaned out since the 1970's)

I use one of these at work for scanning negatives and slides.
