Holy crappola!
So, I started my job on Tues. All is well. We're located in the theatre district/chinatown/downtown crossing area of Boston city. It's a tough area, but there's a huge police presence here. And I mean huge. Today, I'm trying to get back into the building from lunch and a large beast-like cop stops me. He rests his hand on his holstered gun and says, 'Sir, you gotta clear this area.' I'm thinking, 'I'm going to get shot.' Apparently, there was an altercation that occurred a couple of minutes ago. So, I move. Of course I move. Then my supervisor comes out of nowhere from inside the building and says, 'He works here. Leave him alone.' Then he escorts me in. I thank her, feeling like a complete idiot and I'm on my way. I mean, when a man with a gun (who is 7 feet tall) tells you you can't go back in... you comply. But I can't help but feel like I should have told him I worked there. I mean, I had no idea what was going on. Oh well. I guess everyone has this sort of experience on their first couple days of work. ![]() |

^ Hahahaha, awesome first-day story. I think that's a good omen.
Of course, when I read the thread title I thought, 'hooray, GC simply cannot find a job so they're packing up and heading west.' But, um, well, congratulations. |
