Don't tell me you have family obligations for your deceased grandfather's birthday!

Heehee. Nope. Don't have to worry about my uncles either. Just my dad.

Bah to all of you that have President's day and MLK day off. The sad thing is that today is the first day into the longest stretch of the year and I'm already in a funk about it. I keep telling myself that Michael has a great job with lots of time off. That doesn't really help though. Once he gets his W2's and I can do taxes I'll feel better.

Any port in the storm, I always say darlin'

Besides, that is why PTO and PTO rollover was created. Take those mental health days during the long winter months.

Gotta say, I love your name! Tracilicious, delicious!

I just checked our calander. I didn't think I had Presidents' Day, but I do, which makes it a little better. It still leaves a 3 month gap, and only one day in almost 6 months. And it also means that we only get the one day for the 4th. That kinda sucks.

I'm hoping my stretch of "feeling stuck" is over. Pinning some high hopes on the new year.

My work is erratic anyway, so I don't worry about days off. Hubby works a regular job, but he takes a day off when he needs one. It is kind of annoying that it's winter and no happy holidays to liven things up, but then again, no stress. And winter here isn't so bad.

I think that statement contains all the reasons why I'm feeling restless. 1) We're saving all his PTO for our big WDW trip in May (Japan got put off until 2007, I'll elaborate in Jet Set). So I have to wait for time off and for Disney World. And they won't release the stinking discounts, so I can only sort of plan.
2) There is no stinking winter in this place anymore! I know I live in AZ, but up until this year we actually did get a month or two of running the heater. There have only been a few days this year when I haven't had to run my upstairs air! I hate global warming! Darn mediocre weather. It was perfect at the zoo yesterday, but if this keeps up, January will be the only bearable month of the year!

And another thing, it has been nearly ten months since my last visit to Disneyland. Actually, as I typed that out I realized that it's only been four months, but I really miss it! And if I want to be able to afford WDW I can't go to DL until next winter.

Bleh, I hate waiting.

I bet you anything you get to fire that baby up in both January and February, and perhaps even March. All the concentration on Christmas as being "winter" never takes into account that we don't get real winter weather in the Southwest until later on. All the trees near me have decided it's fall now. Very pretty, even late, as always

I work at a Catholic University and we get MLK and all sorts of crazy sheet off. Cesar Chaves Day, President's Day, Good Friday, plus the regulars and 1˝ weeks (paid) during Xmas that does not count as vacation time.

I hope you are right. Weather.com lists December as my zip code's coolest month.
