SpongeBob's Queer Pants

Focus on the Family strikes again.

Sometimes I wonder why organizations, such as this one, get so much attention.

Conservatives Pick Soft Target: A Cartoon Sponge
Quote:
On the heels of electoral victories barring same-sex marriage, some influential conservative Christian groups are turning their attention to a new target: the cartoon character SpongeBob SquarePants.
US Right Attacks SpongeBob Video
Quote:
"We see the video as an insidious means by which the organisation is manipulating and potentially brainwashing kids," Paul Batura, a spokesman for Focus on the Family, told the New York Times.
I mean, I know I'm giving it attention right now, but I'm curious why gay life seems to intrigue the religious right so much?

This focus on SpongeBob should go down in history as the most innane attack against gays since Falwell took on Tinky Winky the Teletubby.

I know you're saying, GC you're getting amped up over a cartoon sponge. Yes I am. It's silly. But according to this group and extremist religious groups like it says that the gay community is to blame for just about everything.

The gay community is to blame for:
1. The 9/11 attacks
2. Kerry losing the election
3. Decline of moral values in this country
4. Brainwashing children
5. The Tsunami that killed 200,000 people Click here

After awhile, when it's as prevalent as it is in the news it kind of get to you. Sometimes a queen has to wonder if this country is losing it.
