Oooooh, Air and the Killers? I'd go!

I was recently busted....my husband saw the Killers on SNL with me. Ooops. My sister and I shared a pitcher of beer with the lead singer and the drummer one night after they played with Keane a few months ago. Uh, forgot to mention to my husband they were HOT. Cool guys and an awesome show! And um, yes, they are pretty hot. I'll be hearing about it for a while.

Jack: Tastes pretty good to me.

Presale tickets were $150 for both days plus the customary usurous ticket fees. I think that's the same as they were last year. Allegedly the "presale" period is over, but I haven't tried it myself. I still wanted to hear who was playing before I spend the money - eventhough I'm about 80% sure I'm going anyway.

I think they typically start by selling only 2-day tickets. I understand that beyond the tickets there's usually a rush to secure either camping space or a local hotel room. I think we'll probably be doing the later.

January 31 the lineup is announced, I'm eager to hear who'll be there this year.

OMG...you are too funny! If I lived in Portland, I would want to be going to as many shows with you and your sis as possible! Especially if there is a possiblity of a Tanya Harding sighting!

And again, if I lived closer to the action, my husband and I would definitely be game for the Coachella Festival. We love hot, sweaty, crazy madness!

Road trip - make it a Jack Keruacian experience and maybe even throw in a Disneyland visit. Sounds pretty Beatnik to me

It's not in the cards for me. Too much money (and I just found the DREAMIEST bookstore...well cared for used books, preserved in plastic sleeves, first editions, later editions, and really, really affordable...and the damn store has got me - and my money - in its power). And I tend to get a bit worn out after three acts. I just don't have the right energy for that kind of music event.

Have fun everyone who goes, though.

Last year, I had the same fears. Hot sun, drunk people, long day, loud music usually equals a very pissed off me. But, Coachella was VERY laid back. While it was hot, it was dry heat and not so bad (and I'm thermally challenged, remember). The crowd was in good spirits and I just stayed out of the mosh pit and I was fine. (Although, I did get into the fray for the Crystal Method.) The thing is, if you got too hot or too crowded in a tent, you plopped down outside and listened. Or, you went somewhere else to get in some more music.

One of my favorite moments was sitting on the grass as the sun was starting to set and listening to Belle and Sebastian play. It was the most PLESANT concert experience I've ever had - and that's saying a LOT.

I am up for it again this year - both days depending on the bands. I wish we had done both days last year - even if that means seeing Kraftwerk.

The line-up was announced today.

For the Saturday's set I'm excited about Coldplay, Bauhaus (never saw them in their day), Chemical Brothers, Keane, and Cafe Tacuba

For Sunday, I'll want to see Nine Inch Nails, New Order, Gang of Four, Roni Size, the Dresden Dolls, Miss Kitten, and Tegan and Sara.

Now all we need is tickets.

Oh, I'm all about Day 2, though Day 1 has so many acts I'd love to see. From what I understand about the set up, I doubt there'd be a moment to be without entertainment.

Tickets are supposed to go on sale this weekend. I'm going to have to check on my finances, as they are as tight as... nevermind...

Maybe I'll have to chum up to Tramspotter and point out the finer acts at this festival. I'll use my feminine wiles to get my way...

OK... I'm on a little too much caffeine... Anything to get me through till 10:30 with this programming class

I wanna go I wanna go I wanna go I wanna go...

And there's an act called "Sloan", I think that means we're required to go, right?
