I didnt care for it at first visually, but was drawn in, no pun intended, by the energy, and music.
But, I do not reccomend this film to everyone I meet.

I really enjoyed it. The soundtrack really made it all come together.

Paid to see this movie twice! Loved it, bought the soundtrack. Slow, lyrical storytelling, beautiful animation, a jab or two at Disney and Fat Americans, amazing score. I loved the passage of time portrayed in the scenery. I loved the grandmama's unquestioning and constant plod forward through any and every situation - her unspoken dialogue seemed to be, "This is what we do. Why would we do anything else?"

Two toots.

It's an aquired taste. I enjoyed watching it, but not enough to buy on DVD. I got a kick out of the somewhat original visual design, especially as regards the little granny, and the legs of the main character, and even found humor in the making fun of Americans stuff. But even though I enjoyed watching it, I did not get emotionally connected to it. It was sort of like watching Rescuers, but without the heartwarming, little-kid-singing-at-the-moon thing.

I loved it, but I think the music made it for me. I find sort a giggly fascination about how French (and obviously French Canadians) view Americans. The cheesebruger references really are spot-on and we deseerve our reputation for being a country of overweight people. But, we're obviously happy this way ot we'd all change, right?

The film was odd enough to appeal to my love of artistic oddities, the style fun and different, the color pallet giving it a sense of the antique. I really enjoyed it quite a lot.

Loved it right off the bat at the theater. Gorgeously different, even when bordering on grotesque. Amazing sound design and such an unimaginable story told without words. We bought it as soon as it came out on DVD.

I could not get into this film. Coulda been I was tired, but about 15 minutes into it and I gave up and turned it off.

Based on the opinions on the LoT, I wil give it a go again via Netflix when I am in a happier and peppier mood. Hey, anyone got any vitametavegimen?

Tom and I stood with Snowflake and Flippy on the matter. We just really didn't see everything that all of you saw. We saw snide and snotty exaggerations, and achingly dull narrative. But I'm glad you all enjoyed it-- and thanks for sharing your varied takes.

The Frogs - I liked the scene with the frogs though it was a bit disturbing.
