Okay, I'm feeling totally dimwitted here.

What happened on January 31st?

Please don't tell me I'm just missing the joke...

This is indeed a good counter to the powerful symbolism of worldtrade center steel used in the new class of US navy vessles. Touche! And well met, a good find indeed.
Hmm. *reads post for a third time* You didn't mention Boston, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, advertising, pranks, or bomb threats. You also didn't say that you supported Boston's freak-out over blinky lights. In fact, you said nothing about the topic at hand, so I have to assume you posted this in the wrong thread. But that begs the question - what the hell ARE you talking about?

*read it a fourth time* and try not to miss the forest for the trees. no better yet since you are assuming leave the trees as read (Although I do go on the unfair tangent of comparing my own hypothetical to a real world equivalent.)

I love the history and texture of Boston but don't care much for it present day.

As for ATHF tell me THIS isn't suspicious.

Advertising seems to attract more than the average amount of sleazy fvckers into it's ranks.

I love relatively harmless Pranks but know all too well that they can go too far get out of hand and cause a range of property/emotional damage and emotions both to individuals or the public at large. Annoyance all the way to full blown terror. Once found out as a prank/hoax/street ad law enforcement escalation should shift from protection to as quickly as possible getting ****e back to normal (this seems not to be true for many in the media politicians or prosecutors who are reacting with other motives than imidiate public safty)

And as for support over a freak out why would I in hindsight offer that? I think the guys who did it were fall guys to be sure but also arrogant pricks whoring in front of the media circus that erases any sympathy for them being over zealously prosecuted to me.

I can understand if not support Boston's Emergency services / Police procedure when getting multiple calls about similar suspicious devices treating it seriously until proven otherwise.

Where it went from there was out of hand on many public and private individuals part but what do you expect from cops or politicians or comedy central employees or agents we are living in a nanny state so who wants to take the initiative to risk their ass on being wrong/liable/accountable? Everyone is in CYA mode nowadays and acts accordingly. Would you stick your ass out on the line if you got a phone call saying we think they are harmless but there are these light bright looking devices all over the city and we don't know how many there are yet also bomb squad is on it's way but they wont be there for 1/2 hour should we implement emergency plan X?

And come the fvck on. "If its not a flag it must be a bomb" despite its context and overtones that I find annoying isn't it just too trite and plain stupid for anyone else? If I saw it on a bumper sticker I would wish the driver a full anal cavity search and a delayed flight.

I wouldn't call it "trite" because I hadn't heard the line before. As for stupid - it seems fresh, funny, and pointed to me.

Here's my interpretation of the rest of your post...

1. Something about "forest for the trees" that I find as unintelligible as your original post

2. You don't like Boston these days. I've never been there so I have no opinion on the town itself. I think it's lame how they reacted though, so so far we're in a bit of agreeance

3. A joke about ATHF being suspicious

4. Advertising attracts sleazeballs. I know a few lawyers now so I've stopped judging people by profession

5. Pranks can get out of hand. Can't argue with that

6. You don't have sympathy for the perps. I wouldn't use the word sympathy for how I feel, because I saw the interview with them afterwards, where they cracked my sht up. You don't feel sympathy for someone who didn't back down because the world is filled with fear

7. Take it seriously until proven otherwise. Ok, finally, we come to the conversation at hand...to which my response is.....dude, really? If I called the cops and told them there was something on a building depicting an LED figure flipping me off, they should bring out the f'n bomb squad? Really?

8. Nanny state - I agree with that

You do a great job embedding your opinions in your posts. It's a time-consuming pain to extract the meaning, so let's call this a rare exercise. I have only so much time to read the board and this response took my entire 15 min morning glance, so excuse me if I can't continue responding here.

A full anal cavity search and delayed flight for you, missy! Any kind of comment like that fully warrants my wishing bad things upon you, simply because there isn't nearly enough hostile energy in this world already.

Oh, wait. You're already back from London, so that flight can't be delayed.....

Wait. You went to London? How unpatriotic! If you like it so much there, you should have just stayed! You should be spending that money in America and supporting our country. You infidel traitor!

Ugh. You just make me sick.

I'm putting you on my watch list with Coastermatt, because surely you must be one of "them".

I HOPE I'm "one of them".

International travel doesn't do much for patriotism.
