She said "lightly", which I interpreted as 'not deep'. I've had light scratches which I have covered in said manner. Of course, I'm pretty casual about such things, so I'm easy to please. I also do not live near the ocean, where I've heard rust loves to inhabit scratchy places......

Edited to add: Whoops! My mistake. She didn't say "lightly", she said "not deep", which I still insist on interpreting as 'not deep'.
