I never heard of him either ... but, damn, he's hot as King Arthur!
And I don't think that character's a stretch at all. He's shown pulling the sword from the stone ... an event which happens in a Walt-era Disney animated film. Oh sure, he's a far cry from Wart ... but it's a revisualing I'm very pleased with. * * * * Rachel Weisz is stunning as Snow White. * * * * But Julie Andrews as The Blue Fairy! HAHAHAHAHAHA! Love it. ![]() |

It's a park dream. And King Arthur has that oddly spelled (to me, at least) "Carrousel." And that sword/stone thingie in front of it.

Huh, Sleeping Beauty's dad? I don't get the reference.
Priceless as Julie Andrews is as The Blue Fairy ... how is imagining her in a world of tree fairies - never even implied in Pinocchio - - any less of a stretch than having Arthur pull the sword from the stone when he's a little bit older (and infinitely hotter) than in the Disney film? |

I don't get the reference either. Sleeping Beauty's dad in the Disney movie is Stefan, and her father-in-law is King Hubert.
I was referring to the fact that the attraction in the middle of Fantasyland is called "King Arthur's Carrousel," and that the sword (in the stone) sits in front of it. Since the series of photos is supposed to represent things from Disney parks, I just assumed that that's why it's OK to use Arthur.

How was Prince Phillip attacking Maleficent Dragon something from the Disney parks?
Eh, whether it's parks or movies, The Sword in the Stone fits both. Hotty King Arthur works on every level. ![]() |

Granted, it's a similar stretch (a la Arthur), but Philip appears in the parks as a character (parades, mostly), while Maleficent as a dragon appears in the US in Fantasmic and until recently in the Cinderella Mystery Castle attraction in Tokyo. I guess that Disney animation, as represented in the parks, is pretty short on adult male iconic heroes...

Interesting how all the beautiful heroines are played by actresses, yet the hot heroes are played by sports figures.
