Heh, those pre internet days:
phone calls from Disneyland - "Hey we're calling you from a Speaker Phone - how cool is that?"
or - "wow you can call the waether number for any areacode and find out what the weather is like"
How impressed we were of the futre that has now become so mundane.

I miss the speaker phone booths, too. And I miss the old style Emporium, too. Sadness.

among some of the merchandise locations i worked were Tobacco and the Men's Counter in the Emporium.

i enjoyed the Glass Blowers on Main Street creating unique keepsakes and collectibles right before your eyes!

do you recall the perfume shop in NOS? you could buy name brands OR for a nominal cost, have a custom blend made and registered just for you!

how 'bout Pendleton Wool in Frontierland and next door the leather shop with western hats, belts and wallets (now a pin shop).

and remember when...

the Penny Arcade was filled with antique arcade games and not CANDY?

I have a special place in my memories for two shops of yore:

- The Hat shop in New Orleans Square. Back when I was in my teens :cough:, that place was filled with all sorts of beautiful and eclectic women's hats. Hats with ostrich plumes and lots of ribbons. Back then, I always said to myself that when I had a job and some money, I'd get one of those extravagant hats. But that never happened. :sniff:

- The mineral shop at the exit of the Mine Train. They had all sorts of gemological stuff in there like polished rocks, quartz crystals and the like. Although I never really wanted to buy anything there, I loved poking around and looking at all the mining equipment.

What wonderful memories....

I have a memory of a pre-teen me convincing my parents to buy a full-head (smelly) rubber Frankenstein mask at the magic store.
Those were the days.

I'm glad the big smelly rubber snakes and spiders are still being sold near the exit of Jungle Cruise. Saw them recently after the store redo. I look forward to frightening my children with them, if they're still there then.
